The Slovenian community continues to celebrate Easter in its traditional way. On Easter Monday, members gather at Nas Dom after Mass for breakfast featuring hard-boiled eggs (“Christ’s tears”), a special smoked ham representing Christ’s body served with horseradish, and a ring-shaped cake symbolising Christ’s crown of thorns. The Eucharistic celebration is always accompanied by the Slovenian choir Slomsek from Maasmechelen.
