For the 9th time, a commemoration ceremony is taking place at Thorpark for the deceased miners who died of silicosis or accidents in the mine. This ceremony is organized by the Mijn-Verleden. Jean Muysers and the mayor spoke very passionately about the history and the importance of the Mines in the Genk area.
